Factory Nights
Factory
Nights are a series of practice led sessions instigated by rednile
artists to bring creative people together in inspiring and hidden gems around
the UK and more recently to India, Thailand and Peru. The programme aims to
activate spaces from a grass roots approach, provide intelligent professional
development opportunities and to develop site responsive new artworks and
collaborations.
Factory Nights is an extension of my personal practice through my interests in exploring overlooked or unexpected spaces. And in creating a shared performative experience where the outcome is a documentation of process and the inception of ideas.
Factory Nights featured:
Old Wallaw Cinema in Blyth currently being turned into a pub
The Dove Marine Laboratory with a group of artists and scientists
The Ice Factory in Chiang Mai, Thailand
Victor Pasmore's Apollo Pavilion in Peterlee, County Durham
Slip Disc swinging discotheque (now Voodoo) in Coloba Mumbai, India
Supported by: Arts Council England, The British Council, Northern Rock Foundation, North Tyneside Council, Sunniside Partnership, Durham County Council, Durham City Arts, Inspire Northumberland, Blyth Valley Arts and Leisure, Stoke-on-Trent City Council, Staffordshire University, Multistory, Sunderland City Council, Gateshead Council.
